today's mother's day. went out for dinner with my folks. went to this new restaurant. looked rather promising in the brochure in our mailbox. realised it's not that great when we got there. it only had the bare minimum to pass off as a restaurant; tables, chairs, waitresses, kitchen. their function rooms were named after vegetables which i thought was damn retarded. and out of the hundreds of veggies known to man, they chose 'chillie' and 'green pepper'. like hello, stupid or what. what in the world made you name your function rooms after vegetables? you might as well name them after kitchen utensils like 'wok', 'pot' and 'pan'. and even if you had to name them after veggies, for whatever spastic reason, you could've chosen better veggies right. even 'asparagus' sounds better, no? ya but anyw, all that aside, the food was pretty all right. cept for the complimentary mother's day dessert for mothers which was disgusting at best. it had the colour of blended celery, had blobs of god knows what floating in it and it tasted like liquefied 'tau-hui'(beancurd dessert). the waitress didn't even bother to explain to us what the hell she just served up in a coconut. but my mom being quite the kiasu singaporean, just accepted it without asking since it was complimentary. all i can say is, thank god it was only for mothers.
